WELCOME TO ANNIE OAKLEY'S ANIMAL SANCTUARY
Our amazing team of regulars and part-time volunteers are committed to helping our animals. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Think you would be a good fit? See our contact page for more information!
As life long animal lovers we have spent years rescuing animals. In 2007 we took in two dogs who lost their owner to tragic circumstances. We have been saving animals ever since.
We are strongly opposed to euthanasia and will provide a loving and caring home for animals who would otherwise be locked in a cage for the rest of their lives or euthanized.
Our primary goal is to provide a good quality of life to animals that have not or cannot find forever homes. Our mission is to rehabilitate dogs who cannot be adopted for various reasons - age, disabilities, unsocialized. We can give them the love, attention and training they need to be ready for a forever home.
We promote spay/neuter programs and provide a temporary home to animals awaiting forever homes. We serve the animals who cannot serve themselves.
Currently we are focusing mainly on giving a temporary or forever home to unwanted dogs. However we are also taking in livestock that we can accommodate at this time. Our goal is to re-home as many animals as we can. We will not euthanize animals unless it is a humane end of life circumstance. We will not allow animals of any kind to suffer. Our goal is to have our facility prepared to take in horses and other larger livestock in the near future.
We will not adopt any animals without current vaccinations and a firm commitment to spaying or neutering the animals at the appropriate time if the animals are too young at the time of adoption. We will conduct a home visit for each and every potential adoption to ensure our animals will be cared for appropriately, not neglected, abused or with an owner(s) who we believe may be likely to give up on an being that cannot care for itself.
Annie Oakley's Animal Sanctuary is a place where DOGS CAN BE DOGS!
We specialize in the rehabilitation of dogs who are having problems in the home as well as dogs who are essentially living out their lives in cages because of socialization issues; whether they are fear-based, due to a lack of training or dominance aggression. We will not house any of our animals in cages.
For our full-time canine residents as well as our temporary visitors awaiting forever homes we house them in what we like to refer as Dog Cabins.
We offer in-home and on-site rehabilitation for canines with behavioral and/or socialization problems.
Please check in with us online frequently, as we have incoming animals in need of forever homes on a regular basis.
CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION:
4 SHEPARD MIX PUPPIES
In addition to offering a forever home for any animal that comes through our facility we will facilitate adoptions upon request for specific breeds. behaviors or special needs for the owners .
Our sanctuary is located 10 miles north of Williams, Arizona on 10 acres of pristine wooded land that abuts thousands of acres of state and national forest land. Our dogs can run freely in our first 1.2 acre enclosure and go for long walks with our workers and volunteers.
We build our Dog Cabins to effectively function as a home for dogs that feels like a real home and not a dog house. Complete with a bed and table and chairs. We believe this is the right thing to do by our wards who will live out their lives here as well as give the opportunity to our dogs awaiting forever homes to become acclimated and comfortable living in a home-like environment.
Our main Dog Cabin is 20' x 10' with a loft for dogs to sleep on or on the lower level in cubbies near the living room area.
We are honored to accept donations of any amount and any kind. We are currently seeking funding for materials to build our dog cabins, fencing for our recreation enclosures, big game fencing to secure our perimeter, medical and food costs as well as general maintenance.
